Anyone can become a member of Nebata. We do not charge any fees for membership. While Nebata was established for Thalassaemia patients and their families, we welcome anyone who is affected by, or interested in, thalassaemia and its treatment. New Members Form
As a primarily voluntary organisation, our work depends on the hard work of dedicated people. Depending on funding, we have paid and volunteer positions. Volunteers usually have some costs reimbursed.
We welcome applications for volunteer positions throughout the year. Please send a CV and brief letter outlining your interest in volunteering with Nebata, your preferred area of work from the list below, and any relevant experience you would need to email [email protected].
Specific positions will be posted when they become available but we generally look for the following skills and experience:
- Events organising and management
- Event-specific volunteers
- Writing reports and communication
- Database development
- General admin
Since we began, Nebata has been driven by thalassaemia patients and their families. We work closely with medical professionals to help bridge gaps and to empower patients. In accordance with our Constitution, our members elect Committee Membersat our Annual General Meeting. All of our committee members are independent and receive no reimbursement for their time. They are parents, patients, and family members and care professionals.
